Five Off-Road Destinations to Check Out This Summer

We are winding down to only about a month left until summer is over, but it’s not too late to take that off-road vacation you’ve always talked about. To make planning a little easier, we have complied a list of our favorite off-road locations. Check them out!

5.  Azusa Canyon (Southern California)
With up to 150 acres of diverse off-road opportunities that include water crossings, rocks, dirt sand and hills seasonally, Azusa canyon features some of the most diverse terrain in the country.

4.  Whipsaw Trail (British Colombia)
It’s the perfect time of year to visit the Whipsaw Trail in British Colombia because the rainfall is lowest in July and August. This trail won the BFGoodrich Outstanding Trails award, but may be challenging to novices.

3. Hollister Hills SVRA (California)
Hollister Hills State Recreation and Vehicle Area has more than 24 miles of trails. It also features an obstacle course. This challenging off-road course has some routes that are impassable when wet.

2. Superlift ORV Park (Arkansas)
The great thing about this private off-road vehicle in Hot Springs Arkansas is that there is that no matter your level of expertise, you will be able to find a trail that you are comfortable on. With more than 400 acres of terrain and a mile of waterfront, you are sure to find some fun!

1. San Juan Mountains (CO)
The San Juan Mountains in Southwestern Colorado are home to some difficult trails such as Black Bear Road with its narrow switchbacks, but the beauty there is well worth the challenge. If you are less experienced, the region also filled with beautiful trails, passes and routes that are easy enough for beginners.

*Please always remember that rock crawling and off-road driving are inherently dangerous activities.  Always take proper precautions and exercise discretion before attempting off-road driving, including driving within your ability and experience, using appropriate harnessing devices and having proper safety gear ready.
