Mothers Against Drunk Driving Donation Match | Larry H. Miller Chrysler Jeep Tucson

Larry H. Miller Chrysler Jeep Tucson will be partnering with Mother’s Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Arizona to help raise awareness around the organization’s “Tie One On for Safety” campaign, which encourages drivers to tie a red ribbon on their car as a reminder to always designate a non-drinking driver. In addition, through Larry H. Miller Charities, the dealership group’s charitable arm, the company will match customer and community donations up to $20,000.

“Every 51 minutes, on average, an individual is killed in a drunk driving crash and Thanksgiving through New Year’s Eve is the nation’s most dangerous time of the year for car accidents,” said Nick Ray, state director of MADD Arizona. “During this past Thanksgiving weekend alone, DUI task forces in Arizona made 372 DUI arrests.”

These staggering statistics have prompted LHM Dealerships, an organization that focuses on giving back to the communities it does business in, to partner with MADD to encourage responsible driving during the holiday season and throughout the year. From December 8 through January 1, all 13 LHM Dealerships locations in Arizona will match customers’ donations to the campaign up to $20,000.

“Responsible operation of a vehicle is essential and we’re proud to support MADD in reminding drivers to make smart decisions during the holidays,” said Dean Fitzpatrick, president of LHM Dealerships. 

The funds will go directly to MADD Arizona to support the victims and survivors of drunk driving crashes, which occur once every eight minutes nationwide. Red ribbons and “Tie One on For Safety” buttons will be worn by LHM associates and given to customers as a reminder to designate a sober driver before getting together with family and friends this holiday season.

“On behalf of Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the victims we serve and the community members to whom we provide educational programs, we thank Larry H. Miller Dealerships for stepping up and supporting our 2014 Tie One On For Safety campaign,” said Ray.

Drive a Mile for A Vet Event | Larry H. Miller Chrysler Jeep Tucson

Larry H. Miller Chrysler Jeep Tucson and 97.1 KPLX are teaming up this November and December for our “Drive a Mile for a Veteran” event that will benefit The Arizona Fisher House.

From November 11^th-December 20^th, Larry H. Miller Chrysler Jeep Tucson will donate $5 for every test drive taken to The Arizona Fisher House. The funds will go toward construction of the facility.

The Arizona Fisher House will be located on the Veteran’s Hospital campus and is a place for families to stay while a Veteran member of their family is receiving treatment at the hospital.

“We understand that having family by your side when undergoing medical treatment can be critical to recovery, and it’s of the utmost importance that these soldiers feel supported during tough times,” said Larry Watts, General Manager of Larry H.
